While it is not essential to be inside the Mako to defeat a Geth Colossus, it is much more difficult to defeat a colossus on foot. While the Geth Colossus is not a full-fledged boss fight, it can definitely seem as difficult as one. This may ease players’ minds a bit since the Mako is fitted with machine guns that can slowly drain the colossus’ shields and a cannon that can cause a significant amount of damage to the colossus in one blow. In Mass Effect 1, players can expect to be inside of the M35 Mako for many of the Geth Colossus fights. The machine guns will do quicker damage to players that stacks up over time, while the cannon does a large amount of damage in one shot. The Geth Colossus has two weapons: the mass accelerator machine guns and a Siege Pulse mass accelerator cannon. Their armor is a different color than armatures, with colossi donning a bright platinum shade of armor.
